PS Plus free games wishlist for July 2022

At present, PSMore subscribers can experience all the new benefits of the Extra and Premium tiers, if they’ve upgraded from the newly dubbed Essential tier. There are plenty of great games at the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers, although some are particularly unhappy with the PS Plus free games for June 2022.

Essential tier free games include God of War, from Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, making the reason pretty clear. However, the July 2022 PS Plus free games will be a bit different. Not only will subscribers get two free games as part of Essential (or how it currently works), but they’ll also get a few extra games added to Extra and Premium.

The July 2022 PS Plus free games are set to be announced on June 29, while the reveal of the Extra and Premium game versions will take place around mid-July. Fans already know Wander is one of July’s PS Plus Extra games, joining the service on its first day of release, but here are a few games that would do great on the service.

July 2022 PS Plus Free Game – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019)

Even though Activision-Blizzard is in the process of being acquired by Xbox, the deal isn’t done yet and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) on PS Plus would be a strong move. It’s considered one of the best CoD games of recent years, and with its sequel releasing later this year, it would be a good hype game to release.

Many fans have probably already played modern warfare, but those curious about returning to the franchise, those who haven’t, or those who have left the game would benefit from its inclusion. Not to mention that FPS is one of the most popular genres, including a Call of Duty playing on PS Plus anytime is a safe bet.

July 2022 PS Plus Free Game – The Pathless

Pair something as serious as Call of Duty is difficult, but something serious but unique would be the way to go. The pathless, ultimately, would be a good fit for PS Plus because it’s different but captures that all-important fun factor well. This is an Annapurna Interactive 2020 title, as well as a PlayStation console adventure. The pathless is an open-world third-person action-adventure game, where players try to lift a curse on the island they inhabit. It’s packed with puzzles, unique abilities, and a serious Eagle relationship/gameplay mechanic.

The pathless is also a good game that too many people may have slept on. Paying more attention to it with PS Plus is a win-win situation for everyone involved.

It’s unclear which titles will join Wander on PS Plus Extra/Premium in July, and it’s also unclear how many games will be added per platform or tier. Right now it’s like shooting in the dark. However, if any of the following games were to come to PS Plus, they would be great games for the service. Since the higher tiers are premium and include tons of big AAA games, it’s best to aim for the stars if one has to shoot in the dark, so here are some hopes:

  • PS1- Final Fantasy Tactics, Chrono Cross
  • PS2- Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier, NBA Street Vol. 2
  • PSP- Secret Agent Clank, God of War: Ghost of Sparta
  • PS3- Metal Gear Solid 4, Travel
  • PS4- The Witcher 3
  • PS5- It takes two

PSMore subscribers receive a handful of free games each month.
