Free PlayStation Plus games for December 2021: bad news for PS4 and PS5 gamers | Games | Entertainment

Each monthly launch has its own ups and downs, with bad news received by fans who have downloaded one of December’s most notable free PlayStation Plus games.

While it’s impossible to please every PS Plus subscriber on PS4 and PS5 consoles, many are currently enjoying Godfall: Challenger Edition, Lego DC Super-Villains, and Mortal Shell.

But for those who enjoy Mortal Shell, there has been some bad news shared by those who play on PlayStation 5.

In what is becoming a standard occurrence, those who play Mortal Shell through PS Plus cannot upgrade to the next-gen version.

This means that the Mortal Shell on offer isn’t the Enhanced Edition, although many subscribers report seeing artwork for this version on their PlayStation dashboard.

For those who haven’t played it yet, Mortal Shel is a hack n slash title heavily inspired by the Dark Souls series.

And if you’ve played Dark Soul before and enjoyed it, Mortal Shell will be a great choice for December.

Fighting can be just as brutal, and there are plenty of ways to die and lose any progress you’ve made.

The big difference is that you can pick up different seashells (human bodies) to inhabit, providing different stats and gameplay variance.

The Enhanced Edition includes all of this and also offers the best version of the game in terms of performance and graphics.

A post from the Mortal Shell development team provided more information, explaining, “From the moment we got our hands on the PS5, we delved into its power and capabilities to find the best ways to bring Mortal Shell to a new generation.

“Whether you take your first steps into Fallgrim or return to face its most vicious and grotesque opponents, our goal is to increase immersion and make everything more brutal than ever.

“That means smooth 60fps (focused) gameplay, amazingly crisp 4K visuals (scaled, with a 4K-capable display), improved textures, and DualSense controller upgrades that keep you going. provide a more physical connection to the game.

“We can’t wait for you to feel the whispers and heartbeat vibrations echoing from your controller as you approach a new shell, as well as the adaptive trigger feedback when your character takes the final blow and runs out of stamina.

“Fighting a brigand ranger for the first time?” Gain the advantage in combat by feeling the haptic feedback of passing projectiles – and the added impact if any of those projectiles hit you.

Mortal Shell is available for download along with Godfall: Challenger Edition and Lego DC Super-Villains until January 2022, when they will be replaced with new titles.

There are reports that Sony is planning big changes to existing PS Plus and PS Now services, and those changes are expected to be announced in spring 2022.
