Starting next Thursday, April 14, Epic Games Store users will be able to claim Insurmountable and XCOM 2. Insurmountable is a roguelike permadeath game about climbing mountains. It was well-received by critics when it launched in 2021, but it slipped under the radar a bit.

XCOM 2, meanwhile, is a critically acclaimed turn-based strategy game where players battle hostile alien threats. Developed by Firaxis Games, XCOM 2 is the latest installment in the mainline series of the long-running strategy game franchise, and even though it’s six years old at this point, it’s still a decent “get” for the Epic Games Store and one of the games most prestigious freebies that’s been given away all year.

Once April 14th rolls around, Epic Games Store users can hang on Insurmountable and XCOM 2 while finding out what they can expect from the April 21 free game offers. While they wait, Epic Games Store users can grab The Legacy of Thieves and The disappearance of Ethan Carter free.
