As games got bigger and more immersive, developers kept adding more and more features to give their games that extra something. Even the tiniest details can add a huge amount of fun to their game, whether by making them more accessible or simply adding a little more nuance.

These features may not be an integral part of their game, they may even barely be substantial, but their games are just a little bit better because of them. These great features prove that it’s the little things that matter most.

So it makes sense that in a game like GTA V with so much driving, listening to the radio would be an option. The radio is not just a list of songs, it offers a huge selection of stations and various genres.

Players can browse over a dozen radio stations while navigating the road, which will play anything from classic rock to hip hop to jazz. In a game that’s already packed with insane detail, browsing radio stations just adds that little bit of extra immersion.

There are many reasons why the Batman: Arkham are considered some of the best superhero games ever made. They’re packed with awesome detail and easter eggs for fans to truly capture the feel of being Batman. During gameplay, Batman will pick up conversations with random goons he encounters. Some of them give hints to secret areas or provide important plot background, and some just have something funny to say. Conversations include a murderer berating his friend for drunk driving, one revealing his own mother’s promiscuity, one making a surprisingly good Joker impression, and many more gems.

A ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.” Whether they’re funny or just plain awesome, they’re all worth reading.

There is no shortage of awesome features in the immaculate of 2018 God of the war reboot, but one of the coolest has almost nothing to do with the gameplay itself. Along with the stellar combat, the game also features some pretty fantastic camera work to bolster its already powerful story.

Players may have noticed that there isn’t a single camera cut in the entire game. Other than fast travel and pauses, the entire 20+ hour game is fully captured in one shot uninterrupted. While it might not be as impressive as in a movie, it’s still some pretty amazing cinematography. This is another factor that makes God of the war so special and so big.

Players can take a break from their Viking adventures to pet many adorable animals from around the world, including dogs. Chaining tricks together even earns them extra XP, encouraging players to experiment with different stunts. It’s so much fun that just driving through town is almost as much fun as playing the story.

If players are lucky enough to get their hands on a sword, they can slash all incoming projectiles, including bullets, straight through the air. It’s hard to pull off, but watching your character cut a bullet in half in the replay won’t be great.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean is sadly overlooked compared to the more popular games in the franchise, which is a shame because it’s a really good game. One of the coolest features is how the game deals with the famous curse of the crew of Barbossa in the first film.

If players moonlight as one of the cursed pirates, they will transform into a skeletal version of the character, just like in the movie. Not just an ordinary LEGO skeleton either, each character has a skeletal form specially designed for them. Some locations even let any character steal some of the gold, turning them into skeletons as well. It’s a cool visual and awesome feature of a relatively forgotten game.

A lot star wars games have tried to capture the true feel of wielding a lightsaber, but few as well as the jedi knight series. The game has become a classic both for the introduction of some great characters that fans still want to see again and for its unparalleled lightsaber combat.

Not only does the lightsaber feel really powerful against any enemy, but it also interacts with the environment in a way few games have been able to capture. If the lightsaber hits a wall or other object, it will leave a burn mark in the exact pattern. It takes the immersion a step further and arguably does it better than most recent games. Plus, you can draw fun shapes with it.

Big moments in combat will trigger a very brief moment of slow motion, which is used to add even more punch to devastating melee strikes or destroying enemy vehicles. Not only is it endlessly satisfying, but it also makes those moments feel even more cinematic, like playing a scene straight out of road of fury. In a game with already incredible combat, these moments make it even more impressive.
